Depends on the school. Find out which club is the best.

Taekwondo and Hapkido arent good for mma by themselves. Hapkido is good striking and grappling. The taekwondo club could be a mix of karate/jujitsu/ground fighting.

in taekwondo you barely use your fists. its almost only about kicking and really complicated kicking techniques. if you like it you should do it but if you want to apply it to MMA/kickboxing you should definetely work on your boxing/groundgame/transitions too. just get to the schools and give it a try. if you dont like it you still can search something else.

I'd go for Hapkido, but forget about the concept of something about better or worse for MMA.

I'd say taekwando. Apologies for misspelling. Why I say Taekwando because I have this theory that mma really isn't mma it is mostly three dominant fighting style with one starting to rise. The three are wrestling BJJ and Muy Thai and the rising one is traditional boxing. Any solid kicking martial art other then muy thai would do well*this is why I think Machida has done pretty well since his base is some kind of karate style*. I just feel you would have a better chance being able to compete with a solid kicking style with variety such as Taekwando. With kicks you could keep fighters at a distance and immobilize. Hapkido I don't know to much about but taekwando I know will train you to have a nice solid kicking base. There are other factors though like others have mentioned such as what you prefer. Just my opinion...

thx guys!!! u helped alot, i decided to go to Hapkido and its really good. i actually think it is probably the most well rounded MA's out there. it has all striking (punching, kicking, knees, elbows), joint locks, chokes, takedowns and even ground fighting but that come in black belt :(. while i found taekwondo focused too much on striking with little of anything else. btw i think hapkido is a build up of taekwondo, like it has all the same kicks and stuff but then hapkido has all the manipulation stuff. well that was my impresssion from viewing both MAs. anyways thanks to all
