What inspires you to train harder and harder

Postby A-ROCC » 12. Mar 2010, 02:31

Well me I get inspired when I see GSP train. That dedicates me more to train harder. Mike Tyson and Pacquiao too. There training videos inspire me a lot.

To get better, and push myself past what I was previously capable of. You have to be careful though...train too hard and you can get hurt.

Shepherds we shall be For thee, my Lord, for thee
Power hath descended from Thy hand
Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti

It'll happen eventually, even if you're careful. When you start training really hard, especially with heavy sparring a lot, it's basically inevitable.

I thought I was invincible for a while, then I pulled ligaments in my heel, threw out my elbow, fucked up my wrist :|

But it's all part of the game. Nobody goes through MMA training without getting hurt at some point.

ali inspires me, big time.

edit: i actually saw ali one time, in person. i didnt have a chance to say anything to him or anything like that, but i remember i was like ten years old, at this convention thing to meet diamond dallas page. i looked up randomly and there he was. i remember very distinctly thinking "holy shit thats muhammad ali." even at that age i knew it was a really big deal. he was shaking and stuff, but he was still such an impressive sight. it seemed to me like he was ten feet tall. he is definitely one of my heros.

My cousin and I both started training at the same time
ever since we were like 5 we have always been competitive
and we always roll or spar against each other and although were evenly matched

i train as hard as i can to completely surpass him

I inspire myself. I look at what I am, and what I could be, and I want to make it happen.

Funny thing, i kinda new that but needed to hear it. I started training at an mma gym about 3 weeks ago now and i hurt my shoulder, for the past week i have been having to train a bit easier than i normally would and it has been getting me down as i feel i cant show what i am really capable of, if you know what i mean.... As i said im only a begginer in mma so any advice is good advice. Should i be slowly stretching out my shoulder or just resting it up as much as i can ? thanks

I am not competing at all. I have no experience at all. I can't afford lessons. So I'm sticking to wrestling for a while since it's way cheaper and it's in my school and I can get it for free. The rest I just rely on youtube and watch fights and try to learn as much as I can. I wanna do boxing or MMA amateur or pro. Doesn't matter to me it's all fun to me. Right now I'm in a wrestling program. Way cheaper than MMA lessons. I'm learning a lot from it. As soon as I get the money I'm going to that MMA gym.
