i think you might have to go back in time

MMA to me is about winning when you are not the best technical striker or highest level black belt. It is about winning when you are the better fighter.

Brutal fucking stuff bro....Go to Youtube and look up tony cecchine, or something of the sort. He totally destroys the dude he uses to demonstrate the techniques. The most notable fighter that i know of that utilizes it to my knowledge is josh barnett, and i think randy is going back old school as well.. I believe there is also a website called scienceofwrestling.com

yea check out barnett. also check out Erik Paulson (barnett's coach). i think his nick name is "the man of a thousand holds" or something. But he is truely an amazing grappler. He also has PPV site which he frequently updates with new techniques. In HD and very good explinations. Erik is one of my fav's.http://paulsoncsw.com/

I think paulson is one of the few who still teaches catch wrestiling. i believe the name submission wrestling is used synonymously.

overall, same concepts as bjj. just different names for different subs....

Wow. Sorry to bring up an old thread but I do study Catch along with BJJ and use the Catch concepts wearing a gi and without it.

A good video to watch would be punishing rides by Josh Barnett. It covers a lot of positions (or rides). Another video I liked is called "Attacking the Guard." Frank Shamrock has some good videos out as well. Not necessarily catch but Stephen Kesting has a great video called high percentage leg locks.

The point of catch is being as aggressive from up top as possible. Put your elbow on their eye socket . Put your knuckles on pressure points on their face. I`m considered a dirty grappler but my underwear has no streaks on it and I shower before and after class.
