i think trying triangle choke might suck when striking is allowed coz most triangle chokes r done from the bottom with full leg guard and ur triangle is not guaranteed, yet ur face might probably be ragged.

Not if you keep proper wrist control, but any sub is gonna have a chance that if you fail your guard is gonna get passed...

nope, not to sb with same grappling lvl, in tat situation, upper one always hav advantages. one-hand-on-one-hand wrist control can be escaped juz with an easy twist of wrist. tat s y bottom player pulls in the top guy's head or body to make too close to punch (but hammer fist can be still coming) or push with crotch too far to punch.

bottom one with full guard has more opportunities to submit, only without striking, in grappling contest for eg, they usually choose to stay bottom.
in mma or street, it is rare to choose bottom. Only ppl like nog or shinya with higher lvl of grappling might choose to stay bottom.

Me too... I have been getting alot of people in triangle recently but i do have to say im not a fan of arm triangles... Iv been getting caught in those a lot lately but I dont get tapped i just get the shit squeezed out the back of my head and neck. Its really straining putting pressure on my shoulder so I dont get tapped...

Personally, I like either the kimura lock or the Amaracona lock (?sp?). Mostly because I like working from side control the most. I find that position harder to lose than full mount.

Thats a good set up but I love to lock in the body triangle if i get some ones back, makes them tired really fast and you can pound em out...

Different kind of flying and sliding heelhooks/leglocks.
Everything that looks like wizardry.
Gogoplata from the guard or mount position.
And the triangle choke =)

agreed. they don't work on everyone and they are easy to burn your arms out on. In a gi, I like to start attacking the opposite arm from side control or in the person's half guard. Americana to arm triangle to colar choke to either kimura or Ezekiel choke. IF none of these work, then it's normally easy to mount either with hooks or 's'.
