Have you noticed that there is talk of Ganja smoking in the posts??

If thats viewable by the entire internet then perhaps a few privacy messures like blacking out users who have their real photo as their AV and crossing usersnames off.. Thought we had a certain level of privacy in a forum.

Thanks! Yes, I am fighting on Saturday for the Number One Contenders spot in the ECF (Elite Cage Fights). If I win that fight I will be fighting for their title and I also have a fight in Branson, MO for the Midwest Shofight Welterweight belt on April 24th. Here's the website for the Branson fight, www.midwestshofight.com I am pretty excited to finally fight in Branson again (my hometown), the only fight i've had here was my debut.

I was a 2 time state qualifier then my senior year I got a really bad concussion and couldn't finish the year or try to do any sport in college (at least for my Freshman year). I have improved alot since high school though, my body matured late and I am still physically maturing. Like I have said i've gained 39 pounds in less than two years now.

I was really happy to fight Austin Hostetler to prove my wrestling since he wrestled at a very good college (not D-1 though) Missouri Valley College and both takedowns came easily.

nice job making state. making it there is fucking hard.

Didn't take time to read all the replies. Some which I did were very good though. Excuse if these are redundant, but if I was training you I'd focus here:

* Striking/feinting- like your speed. Interesting to see you with a jab and some head movement.

* You seem to be pretty quick in transition so I'd see if I could add a lightning/accurate TRIANGLE (edited) to your arsenal. Like the way you move into/setup the armbar. Seems instinctual.

* ELBOWS- since you also seem to pass into full mount rather well, I'd like to see ELBOWS in the works.

* Muy Thai- working from the clinch- could be a natural bridge to gain better striking, but using the body control you have as a wrestler. Could also be a good setup for trips/throws if you go against someone with a bitchin sprawl.

Anyway, don't give up. There's potential there for sure. TRAIN!!!

Thanks man, my sophmore year just to make it to state I had to beat the guy ranked 6th in the state (16 go to state) so yea I have had some tough runs to state and in the state championships.

Yeah I appreciate the tips

- I have been working alot on my boxing and hope to start showing it more in my fights, but I know I can always improve so I will continue to work on every aspect of my game

- We have recently gotten a great BJJ coach in the gym so he is definately tightening up my jitz game, but yeah I love armbars

- I would LOVE to throw elbows.... but they are illegal in amatuer MMA here in Missouri and Arkansas. But believe me i'd love to throw elbows and give my hands a break lol

- You are right, Muai Thai would definately help my game and we will be trying in the future to put it into my game, right now I am really focused on my boxing so I can be very competent in it then I will branch out more (we also cannot throw knees to the head in amatuer MMA in the leagues that I am in)

Thanks again for giving me the advice and taking time to critique me.

Very nice fights! You're in all honesty right where you need to be. Your skills are becoming very competent, and you are using your strengths to bring in the wins and that's what it takes in Amateur MMA.
Also, "How cool is it to be self taught subs?" that's the best thing about this whole thread is the fact that you've been fearless and honest above all, telling the world most of your subs are self taught TUF/Vids makes other younger guys realize that above all in MMA you must either have a FUCKLOAD of skill to get to the pinnacle or for a change have a fucking warrior's heart.
The above statement is purely an opinion. An opinion based on my infinite knowledge and Godly wisdom. Feel free to be wrong by posting your uninformed opinion.
