I think most of us understand this reasoning but it still doesn't change the fact that its fucked. The NBA wouldn't put a team in the Finals if they didn't deserve it, the NFL wouldn't put a team in the Super Bowl simply to attract viewers nor would the MLB delay the World Series to stimulate emotions.
I guess I'm just dissapointed because MMA seems be just starting to get the kind of recognition and respect that other major sports enjoy but then the UFC pulls crap like this just to get viewers and it makes the sport look like Pro Wrestling to a lot of people.

I hear where you're coming from. But, even if the NBA can't arbitrarily put a team in the Finals to boost ratings, that hasn't stopped them from trying (just go back to the 1985 draft of Patrick Ewing to the Knicks)...

There are two reasons that I think the situation with the UFC is A-Ok. First, Brock won the title! With that in mind, any question regarding whether he deserved the shot or not really don't matter to me. Number two, the UFC isn't intended to be a league like the NBA or the NFL, and it doesn't pretend to operate by the same rules. It has the freedom to put up any fight as long as the fans want to see it. Hell, while we're on the subject of leagues like the NBA or the NFL, I wouldn't watch the majority of regular season match ups, where as I would for the majority of the UFC match ups even when they're not title bouts.

Bad bet. Even if you think Brock will win - theres more value in betting on Mir. The odds are fucked due to all the WWE money on Brock. 3-1 favourite - fucking no way. not even 3-2 imo.

Iam not glad myself for this but iam not suprised either.I was hoping Mir would win but when Mir did some stupid mistakes and let Lesnar into his gameplan then i understood very fast that Mir was fucked.He just had no chance at all when the fight developed the way it did!.

This was a fight all about dominating strength,brutal power!.I still wonder who is next for Lesnar? Only one i can se who can match up with Lesnar`s strength is Shane Carwin.(Or have i missed somebody else in UFC?)
