Honestly I like them both, and have seen Nog take some insane beatings and pull it out. AT first I was shocked as hell, I was like WOW REDICULOUS DONT CALL THAT, but as soon as I saw nog try to get up and wobble and almost fall again. I rethought my take on it. Honestly though I think Nog wasn't prepared for Mirs game plan. But I don't recall him throwing a single good solid punch in return. But I would like to see Mir beat lesnar again.

I fucking love Frank Mir, always have. Broke Tim Silvias arm....thats all I ever wanted. Nog is a huge badass though and I hope he continues to fight in the UFC cause the HW division desperately needs him. I hate to think that Mir is going to get rocked by Lesnar as he boxes and Lesnar swings with his rail gun arms....but alas everyone knows it will happen. God speed to Mir in taking on Lesnar. I really want him to rape, and I mean rape, Lesnar in stand up and take him down at least once. That would prove that Lesnar is a punk and only true martial artists own the sport. If Lesnar wins you know eventually they are ganna sign Kimbo to fight him so it will be huge black guy vs huge white guy because that will make billions in ppv sales. Everyone wants to see two tanks fight like superman and doomsday but that is not what the sport is about. Fuck Lesnar, go Mir the fate of the UFC depends on his footwork.

As an equal party to both Mir and Nogueira I've got to say that Mir dominated Nogueira the entire fight. I feel that the stop of the fight was 100% justified. He was not intelligently defending himself (which is the #1 thing the ref. looks for) , he had been knocked down multiple times prior and hardly answered back, and did you see the way he was stumbling when he was trying to get up? Herb Deen did an excellent job at monitoring Nogueira.

You have got to protect the interest of the company and the fighters especially. This isn't UFC 1 where you've got a guy with a purple belt in Karate vs a Greco Roman Wrestler. The MMA fighters of today are Royce Gracie, Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock and Tank Abbot combined into one solid fighter. You cannot expect someone to lay there with their hands down taking blow after blow from someone of this caliber.

The only thing that would have amounted from Herb not stopping the fight when he did would have been Nogueira going into a seizure and possibly a sever injury on top of that.

There is a reason that Dana White and the rest of the owners of UFC implemented rules other than no biting, eye gouging and tickling.. because the sport was too violent. People were getting hurt, the typical fight fan wasn't interested and the company was not growing. Now with a safe set of rules and a solid reality television show on one of the most popular channels of today the industry is nearing mainstream which would never had happened if they didn't make a drastic change.

I believe fighters who are hospitalized right before a fight should not be allowed to compete (Wanderlei vs Crocop, Shogun vs Griffin, Minotauro vs Mir) I know they are warriors in all the sense of the word and it is now proven heart is not always enough.
