This Saturday in Germany, Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko defends the WBA, WBO, IBF and lineal heavyweight titles against undefeated Tyson Fury of England. Klitschko has dominated the heavyweight division for most of this century, but the Fury is a true giant of a man and 12 years younger than the champion. Fury is ranked as the No. 3 contender by The Ring, behind only Alexander Povetkin and Deontay Wilder, and Boxrec has him behind only Povetkin. No heavyweight on the planet is more deserving of a shot at Klitschko. This fight will be broadcast live in the U.S. during the afternoon on HBO.

PICK: This is a really tough fight to call because there is every reason to believe Masvidal can make this competitive and actually win, and every reason to believe he can Josh Thomson his way out of a win and into a split decision loss. Maybe moving up a weight class will consistently increase the offensive output of both fighters and we get a back-and-forth thriller, but there's something preventing me from thinking that'll happen and I just can't explain it. I consider Masvidal to be the much better technical striker (for starters, he has a jab and Bendo never really has had that) and has a really underrated ground game (GOLDBERG-IAN ALERT) with impressive takedown defense. However, he's a slow starter and Henderson thrives at winning fights that go into round 4 and 5. That's not a combination I'm comfortable with as far as picking Masvidal for the upset. I see a slow 1st and 2nd round before Henderson starts to impose his game, outwrestle the hard-to-wrestle Masvidal in the later rounds and try and tire him out, and ultimately pick up a 48-47 or 49-46 type decision win. Jorge wins this if he can outwork Henderson in the clinch, box him up from range and consistently defend the takedown, but I think Henderson is just the better fighter and he'll win this on the ground. Ben Henderson by unanimous decision.

Episode 10 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 gets underway and we're not dicking around with any pleasantries. That means two lightweight quarterfinal fights are on tap featuring Artem Lobov vs. Martin Svensson and Saul Rogers vs. Ryan Hall. Hall is the jiu-jitsu wizard with the nasty leg locks. Team USA and coach Urijah Faber are still reeling after UFC President Dana White booted Chris Gruetzemacher from the competition -- despite the fact that "Gritz" didn't lose -- because of some cockamamie elimination gimmick concocted by producers. That said, he will replace anyone who gets hurt and bows out, like Martin Svensson, who claims his arm is all fucked up from his fight against Thanh Le. After going to get it looked at, the doctor reveals a broken elbow and just like that, Gruetzemacher is back in the mix. He takes over to fight Artem Lobov and according to coach Conor McGregor, will get KTFO in round one. Both teams head back to the TUF house and WTF? There are girls running around in bikinis. White informs the troops he's gone and thrown them a pool party, because he's cool like that (and because everyone fought hard over the past nine episodes). Fast-forward five days and it's time to get it on. Lobov tells Gruetzemacher to "be ready to die in there." Let's hope for everyone's sake it doesn't come to that.

PICK Zane Simon: The fact that I'm picking Gastelum along with the rest of the staff really shouldn't undercut the major x-factor in this fight. This feels like the perfect measuring stick as to just how seriously Gastelum is taking his fight prep. If he is out of shape Magny is difficult enough to put away and aggressive enough in his output to survive early and rally to win the late rounds in a 5 round fight. If Gastelum is in shape, this is the kind of fight he's shown that he's already very capable of winning. I'll assume the latter even though there's no reason not to bet on the former, given his history. Kelvin Gastelum by RNC round 3.

Pick: This is a bad matchup for Cotto. Canelo is going to look 3 weight classes bigger than him tomorrow. If we look at Cotto's last three fights, they're against a heavy underdog in Daniel Geale (who looked like James Irvin's cousin at the weigh-ins), a Sergio Martinez without functioning knees (Martinez has since retired), and career journeyman Delvin Rodriguez. Is it a career resurgence or just matchmaking that makes it seem as such for Cotto? Because he looked close to done against Austin Trout. I firmly believe Cotto is still a good fighter, but his absolute best days were arguably 6-8 years ago. Canelo should have the upper hand here on his crisp punching, very good defense, and just being flat out younger and just physically superior. Freddie Roach can do all he wants, but I don't see Cotto turning back the clock against a man 10 years his junior, especially not one as talented as Canelo. I predict a slow start, then the action picks up, Canelo wears Cotto down with body shots, possibly scores a couple of knockdowns with his combinations, but Miguel will survive to the final bell. Canelo Alvarez by unanimous decision.

Knockout artists Hisaki Kato and Melvin Manhoef will go toe-to-toe in the main event of Bellator 146 on Friday at the Global Event Center at WinStar World Resorts in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The two men have proven to be sources for spectacular finishes in the past. MMA fans should have their fingers crossed as they hope for another memorable scrap. Manhoef epitomizes the concept of feast or famine. He's coming to KO his opponent, and he's willing to meet the same fate in the process. In fact, the 39-year-old from the Netherlands has been knocked out five times in his career, though only four have stood as official results. His most recent bout with Alexander Shlemenko was initially a KO loss via spinning backfist, but the Russian failed a pre-fight drug test and caused the decision to be overturned. Kato scored his own amazing and devastating KO win in his last fight. Facing former Manhoef conqueror Joe Schilling, Kato torched the world-class kicboxer with a left-hand superman punch that knocked him out cold.

Episode nine of “The Ultimate Fighter 22: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber” opens with immediate focus on fighter preparation for the final opening-round matchup of the season. With a 5-3 advantage in the competition, Team McGregor’s Abner Lloveras hopes to put further distance in the score with a victory over Team Faber’s Jason Gonzalez. The traditional “Coach’s Challenge” is next. Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber are set to face off in an airdrop. Each coach will fly in a helicopter and drop melons out the window in an attempt to hit a target worth various levels of points. Beyond the bragging rights of victory, the winning coach will be granted $10,000 with each member of their respective team getting $1,500. McGregor says he wanted a more physical-based challenge but is still confident in victory. It all comes down to the final round where Faber holds a 15-point edge. He connects with a 100-point bulls eye on his final shot for the victory, much to the chagrin of a frustrated McGregor. At weigh-ins, Lloveras and Gonzalez come in under the 156-pound lightweight limit. The ninth opening-round matchup of the season is official. A friendly staredown follows the weigh-in. Lloveras and Gonzalez finalize their preparation, and the next tournament matchup is underway.

Bloodyelbow pick: Rousey is a -2000 favourite for a reason. People say Holm could stand back and pick her shots. She'll try, but Rousey has 25 minutes to get inside Holm's range and then knock her out or judo throw her and submit her. She wins this by stoppage (as per usual) rather quickly. Mookie Alexander PICK: I've read several articles on how Holly Holm can at least make it competitive with Ronda Rousey. I respect those columns and can definitely see a slim chance where Greg Jackson cracks the Rousey code, makes her fight patiently, and Holm capitalizes with several rounds of point-fighting. Hell, I'd even add Rousey could get careless and Holm, while historically not powerful, can land that perfect KO shot for the upset. Here's my counter to all of this: Ronda Rousey, armbar, round 1.

Episode eight of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 gets underway on FOX Sports 1 -- coached by Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber -- and we immediately start gearing up for the next elimination fight pitting Artem Lobov (Team Europe) against James Jenkins (Team USA). Lobov, of course, is one of two fighters welcomed back into the fold, despite losing his fight to get into the TUF house (more on that here). He also trains with coach McGregor back in Ireland so "Notorious" is deeply invested in this next fight. "He's a solid, solid fighter who came up the hard way," according to C-Mac, who predicts a win by knockout. Jenkins, meanwhile, plans to "hit like a ton of bricks." Coach Faber insists this is one "bloody mess" that won't be boring. Both fighters make weight without incident and their staredown is fairly cordial. UFC President Dana White promises "one hell of a fight."

PICK: Henderson's mileage at this point is far more impressive than Randy Couture. Granted, this was never in question. But it really emphasizes what Hendo has actually accomplished; simply put, I can't see there ever being a fighter that could possibly replicate what Dan has at his age. The interesting part of his longevity is that every aspect of his arsenal hasn't dissipated. He still throws with a tire iron, still tough as nails, and the parts of his game that were once deficiencies are only inconveniences.

We've seen Dynamite and other hyped cards, but Bellator 145 is one of the strongest pure MMA cards the promotion has put on. It's being billed as With a Vengeance, and the show is set for Friday, November 6, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The main event and co-main event would be main card bouts in the UFC. That's how good this lineup of fights looks on paper. The co-feature pits Bellator Lightweight champion "Ill" Will Brooks against the Polish submission machine Marcin Held. The main event is a third battle between former Bellator featherweight champion Daniel Straus and current title holder Patricio "Pitbull" Freire. Before those two battles take place, fans will get a heavyweight bout between the always entertaining James Thompson and Bobby Lashley. Also, former 155-pound champion Michael Chandler will face David "The Caveman" Rickels.

Episode seven of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 gets underway and Team USA is feeling good now that it's up 3-2 over Team Europe. With that in mind, Thanh Le (USA) fights Martin Svensson (Europe) to see who gets one step closer to the glass trophy and six-figure contract on Dec. 11, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Svensson is "sick and tired" of the way the Americans fight. Artem Lobov says Team USA needs to do stupid things to be remembered, like wear headbands with penises drawn on them, as well as give each other NOS showers (think low-rent Gatorade bath). Coach Conor McGregor is giving Svensson some extra pointers and has his assistant coach join in, as the burly Swede needs to watch out for the fast hands (and feet) of Le in what on paper, appears to be a classic match up of striker vs. grappler. Coach Urijah Faber, not surprisingly, wants "big kicks and punches" once the cage door closes.
