MMA on New Year's Eve is back with RIZIN Fighting Federation's two-day Grand Prix event. The final build-up leading to the MMA return of Fedor Emelianenko after three and a half years of retirement. It's a huge set of fight cards featuring notable talent from across the combat sports world. There will be top kickboxers, BJJ artists, sumos, and MMA fighters. There will be a light heavyweight tournament, a shootboxing bout, and maybe even a mixed rules fight or two. It's the kind of spectacle that MMA has rarely been able to capture outside of Japan and this looks to be a full force serving of it.

Kazushi Sakuraba (桜庭 和志 Sakuraba Kazushi?, born July 14, 1969 in present-day Katagami, Akita) is a Japanese mixed martial artist and professional wrestler, currently signed to Rizin Fighting Federation. He has competed in traditional puroresu for New Japan Pro Wrestling and shoot-style competition for UWFi and Kingdom Pro Wrestling. He has fought in MMA competition in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Pride Fighting Championships, K-1 Hero's and Dream. He is known as the "Gracie Hunter" or the "Gracie Killer"due to his wins over four members of the famed Gracie family: Royler Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Ryan Gracie, and Royce Gracie. In particular, Sakuraba is famous for his initial fight with Royce, which lasted ninety minutes.

Junior Dos Santos vs Alistair Overeem full Fight Video - UFC on FOX 17 prediction: I almost think you have to pick Dos Santos here, with his punching power, toughness, athleticism, and Overeem's own fragility, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my doubts. Dos Santos looks more and more like he's become a stand-n-bang brawler rather than a deft boxer-puncher with great timing and the ability to adjust range quickly and counterpunch expertly. Every fight he's in now seems to be a back and forth war where he's eating just as many shots as he's landing. And I really do think that Jackson-Wink is doing good things with Overeem, making him a more in-and-out range striker who relies on his prodigious athletic gifts, rather than just trying to out-maul people in the pocket. Overeem doesn't have the chin for it, so not doing it is a great idea. Still, his margin for error is so thin. Overeem easily out-classed Nelson when they fought earlier this year, but every time Nelson landed a couple big shots, Overeem ended up rocked and scrambling. JDS is faster and strings his combos together better. I just can't bet on Overeem surviving 3 rounds, even if I think he could win each one on points. Junior Dos Santos via KO, Round 2.

Rafael dos Anjos vs Donald Cerrone 2 full Fight Video - UFC on FOX 17 prediction: I will freely admit that I continue to have a hard time getting on board the dos Anjos train. It's not that I dislike him - he's a good, entertaining fighter, and I'm happy for him that he finally won a world title. But I still don't see things in him that make me say this is a guy who can hold on to the belt long in one of the sport's deepest divisions. Of course, everything I said about dos Anjos, I also could say about Cerrone. So if I see neither man here having a significant title run, who do I see getting out of this one fight? It's a tough call, but I'll use my heart and go with the Cowboy. Donald Cerrone by submission, round 3

Lance Palmer vs Alexandre Almeida full Fight Video - World Series of Fighting (WSOF) returns to NBC Sports Network tomorrow night (Dec. 18, 2015) with its latest mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which will take place inside "The Chelsea" at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada. WSOF 26 will be headlined by the second title defense for Featherweight star Lance Palmer, coming little more than one year after "The Party" won the 145-pound title in Sacramento. Palmer is not one to rest on his laurels, though, and there is a strong challenge ahead of him in Alexandre de Almeida, along with a strong card for NBC Sports Network with key match ups in three different weight classes.

Who will win? Anton Tabuena PICK: On the feet, I think Weidman may have better hands and more power in them, but Rockhold has better kicks and is more diverse with his strikes. On the ground I think they're equally good -- maybe Weidman has slightly better takedowns, but Rockhold has better transitions and guard passing. I do believe that Rockhold is more athletic, faster, and has better movement, and those things could be the deciding factor on the areas/skillsets that may be very even or similar between them. I have been flip flopping on this pick for a while now, but ultimately that's why I'm going with the upset. Luke Rockhold by Decision.

WHO WILL WIN? (Frankie Saenz): I go with Aldo, just on pure experience, just from what I saw as far as him coming up and him just beating everybody, him beating Frankie Edgar. I'm a huge fan of Frankie Edgar. Him being able to beat Frankie says a lot, as far as his whole MMA game. I mean, he's been the champ for a long time for a reason, and I think he's going to stay the champ, and I think [Aldo] finishes him. This is a fight he's motivated for, and you haven't seen a motivated Jose Aldo in a while, like just freaking getting after it. I think he's going to hurt McGregor.

PICK: I could be dead wrong, but this could be a tough night for Edgar... and it's not just because he's facing "full camp Mendes", who seems as legendary as "motivated BJ" and "sea-level Cain". In all seriousness though, Edgar's takedowns are a big key for his game, and I think that will be neutralized by Mendes. Chad may not be as quick as Edgar, but he has much bigger power, and Frankie's strikes will be more predictable without a significant threat of takedowns. Chad Mendes by TKO.

Rose Namajunas vs Paige VanZant full Fight Video - UFC FIGHT NIGHT 80 prediction: Coming in on relatively short notice may play a factor against Rose on the later rounds, since VanZant's game is based on pressure, but I'm not so sure she wins this. VanZant has been able to out-muscle, out-work and grind out opponents, but I don't think she can pass on that alone against Namajunas. Unless Paige has made significant improvements since we last saw her, I think Rose will still be tricky and manage to find an opening for a scramble and a submission as VanZant tries to press and clinch. Episode 12 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 -- the last of the season -- gets underway and the focus right out of the gate is the remaining semifinal fights featuring Saul Rogers vs. Marcin Wrzosek and Artem Lobov vs. Julian Erosa. Erosa is the lone survivor from Team USA. Coach Conor McGregor calls the Rogers vs. Wrzosek fight "business" and insists there is nothing weird about the pre-fight preparations, despite the fact that both competitors are from Team Europe. In the end, it's every man for himself.

With no UFC events this week, Bellator has a chance to take center stage and they're doing so with a somewhat odd fight card offering. In the main event, longtime UFC & Strikeforce veteran Josh Thomson takes on relatively unknown Pablo Villaseca in what has all the hallmarks of a showcase fight for "The Punk." The co-main is probably the best booked bout of the evening with former title contender Daniel Weichel taking on Georgi Karakhanyan fresh off the Russian-born Armenian-American fighter's return from injury. The bout could set Karakhanyan back up for a shot at the featherweight title if he can get the win. And rounding out the top of the card is a rematch between Patricky freire and prospect Derek Anderson. Anderson had a shocking upset win over "Pitbull" in his Bellator debut, but has been a bit inconsistent since then.

Episode 11 of “The Ultimate Fighter 22: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber” opens with an immediate jump into the final moments of preparation for the third lightweight quarterfinal between Team McGregor teammates Marcin Wrzosek and David Teymur. Despite their status as teammates throughout the season, Wrzosek and Teymur will have to collide over a spot in the semifinal round. UFC President Dana White says Teymur is one of the favorites to win the competition and he expects an action-filled affair.
